Arthur Dodd Memorial Park

Arthur Dodd Park is a 51-acre park five miles northeast of Niles, near Sumnerville and the county line. The Dowagiac River flows through this beautiful park and has been a destination spot for water enthusiasts, nature lovers, hikers, and now campers! Major improvements were added to Dodd Park during the summer of 2017. Upgrades included the installation of a new bridge over the stretch of the Dowagiac River running through the park grounds, new restrooms near the two new cabins, and a canoe/kayak launch. The department also plans to expand the park’s parking lot.

These upgrades were funded through a $375,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund, which was awarded to the county parks department in 2015.
