Cass County residents and visitors can cross-country ski almost anywhere except on private land…weather permitting! But cross-country ski enthusiasts should know that Cass County Parks & Recreation provides some very nice trails.

Groomed & Lighted Cross-country Trails at Dr. T.K. Lawless Park

It’s a GREAT time to get outdoors and enjoy Cass County parks! During the winter season, Dr. T.K. Lawless Park is a popular destination for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding. You need not wait until “Discover Winter Nights” to enjoy the natural beauty of Lawless Park. It is open from sunrise to sunset. This 820-acre park is a centerpiece of winter recreation within the Cass County Parks system. Visitors can enjoy over 7 miles of groomed cross-country skiing, (3 miles of lighted trails) snowshoeing and hiking that take visitors through some of the most scenic countrysides in Southwest Michigan. There is an abundant variety of wildlife and it’s a perfect place for bird watching any season of the year.
