U-pick Farms & Orchards
From early Spring through late Fall Cass County is a market basket of fresh and organic fruits and vegetables! There are an abundance of sources for our farm-to-table produce. Below are some of the more popular orchards & u-pick local farms. Please always call ahead to find out when the fruits and vegetables are ready for harvesting. The grid above is only a rough estimation and varies because of seasonal weather.
Daisy Farms – Dowagiac
Description: We sell and ship bare-root plants across the US. Also have U-pick strawberries when in season. Produce includes:
Dussel’s U-pick – Cassopolis
The Dussel family grows blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, sweet corn, green beans, watermelon, cantaloupe, and of course pumpkins! At our farm produce stand, run by our sons, we sell our jams and jellies and all our homegrown produce. Every summer we open our farm to people who would like to pick their own blueberries and pumpkins. Dussel’s U-pick Schedule
- Blueberries – Generally around July 15th, but this year may be later picking due to our Michigan weather this Spring.

Eckler’s Produce & Greenhouse – Niles
Description: World’s largest selection of ornamental corn products and gourds
U-pick: blueberries, raspberries, and tomatoes in season

Hubbard’s Corey Lake Orchards
Whether we pick or u-pick, our legacy fruits and vegetables have become a tradition for local and regional customers for generations. We offer a wide variety of seasonal produce that is farm fresh and locally grown.
Whether baked or bottled, we offer an assortment of products from our bakery, winery, cidery, and distillery – all made on the farm. Our fresh-pressed cider – made from our heritage apples – is the core ingredient in our line of hard ciders. Our spirits will tease your tastebuds. Our signature fruit pies and donuts are the best in the area!
We are officially open for the 2022 season. We will be open from 9 to 6 every day except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Asparagus and rhubarb are now in season. We do have bedding plants: flowers, cold-tolerant vegetables, Tomatoes, pepper plants, squash, cucumbers, and melons.
Lehman’s Orchards – Niles
Lehman’s picking season features raspberries, blackberries, apples, sweet cherries, tart cherries, strawberries, currants, blueberries, pears, peaches, nectarines, and tomatoes.
For those who visit to enjoy our U-Pick season begins in June and you should:
- Plan your time for picking all the berries you would like and accommodate their packing for transport by the 5 pm closing time.
- We provide buckets for picking, but you should bring suitable containers for transporting your fruit home
- After picking, your fruit will be weighed and equipment provided for fruit washing if you wish
- Free seed removal for Tart Cherries is provided using our automated pitting machine
- Come prepared for sunny weather (hat, sunscreen, water) or sudden lake effect rain showers (rain gear)
Locke’s Fruitful Acres – Between Dowagiac & Marcellus
Description: The country market and greenhouse where U-pick or We-pick. Blueberries are available in Mid-July. Come check out our jams, jellies and honey, as well as a large selection of gift items. Punkin’s Pick Organic Blueberries – Dowagiac

Spirit Springs Farms Apple Orchard – Marcellus
Description: Over 70 varieties of apples – mostly heirloom – limited quantities; apple cider (non-pasteurized), seasonal vegetables, gourds, pumpkins, hand-made crafts, pears, misc. Tasting table of apples offered. Gift boxes of apples are available.
Sprague’s Family Fun Farm – Dowagiac
Description: We are a fruit farm and market located in southwestern Michigan near the Sister Lakes area. We have fresh produce all summer long with U-pick raspberries in the spring and fall. Get your blueberries, peaches, nectarines, sweet cherries, plums, tomatoes, and sweet corn from Sprague’s Family Fun Farm.
