Camp Baber – African Methodist Episcopal Church
Also known as Beverly Thomas Fine Arts Institute, this beautiful camp is owned and operated by the Fourth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Located in Cassopolis, Michigan on 57 acres of landscaped terrain overlooking Stone Lake, Camp Baber shines as a beacon of programmatic possibilities in the Fourth District and throughout the Connectional Church. The Urban League of Chicago, Notre Dame, and Western Michigan Universities have utilized the facilities in years past. Camp Baber houses four dormitories that can accommodate a total of 110 people, and a lodge, equipped with 24 individual, furnished rooms. The Camp boasts a Class A rating as a State of Michigan Adult and Child Resident Camp. The first music and performing arts camp was initiated in 1997 as the vision of Beverly Thomas under the episcopal leadership of her husband, the late Bishop Robert Thomas. Jr. A small grant from the Kellogg Foundation allowed the Camp to open with classes in band and choir. In the short period of four years, the Beverly Thomas Fine Arts Institute ( renamed in 2008), showed phenomenal growth, expanding to include:

Camp Tamarack – Affiliated: Boy Scouts of America – LaSalle Council
Camp Tamarack is approximately 250 acres and is the summer camp facility located on the north side of Big and Little Wood Lake. Tamarack has 14 campsites, 3 winter lodges, 16 staff cabins, main shower house, health lodge, Director’s lodge, dining hall, cooks cabin, quartermaster/trading post, administration building, conservation Pavilion, rifle range, archery range, water-front, athletic field, and parade field. The water supply is winterized (no water in campsites) by October 15th and recharged by May 1st.

Camp Eberhart – YMCA
YMCA Camp Eberhart is an extension of the Michiana YMCA located in South Bend, Indiana. Camp Eberhart began building the camp in 1909. The camp was the first YMCA camp in the country to offer a summer program for young women.

Camp Tannadoonah – Affiliated: CampFire
Camp Tannadoonah is a traditional summer camp serving boys and girls ages 5-16, located on beautiful Birch Lake in Vandalia, Michigan. They are an ACA accredited residential and day camp and strive to provide fun, safe, and life-changing experiences.
Camp Tannadoonah offers 8 weeks of co-ed day and overnight summer camp programming each summer. We have 3-day, 7-day, and 11-day sessions, plus a multi-week Counselor in Training (CIT) program. Campers who register for multiple weeks can stay the weekend in between sessions. We also have Fall Camp, Spring Camp, and Family Camp weekends throughout the rest of the year.
Our summer camp program is designed to immerse participants ages 5-16 in nature to learn, explore, and grow together while developing a lifelong respect for the outdoors. Camp Tannadoonah.
